Welcome!
Welcome to All Carrie, No Big—a blog inspired by my journey of growth and reflection, told through a lens you might recognize. For a while now, I’ve been searching for a way to capture and share the lessons life throws at me, and I couldn’t think of a better guide than the episodic storytelling style of Carrie Bradshaw from the iconic Sex and the City.
But this blog isn’t about chasing drama or the “Mr. Big” rollercoaster; it’s about diving into the heart of who we are and who we’re becoming, just as Carrie did—but with a fresh perspective. Step into my world, where each “episode” shares lessons from my life and introduces some incredible characters of my own. Together, we’ll explore self-discovery, resilience, and maybe find a bit of that New York-style wisdom along the way. Join me on this journey—a space to document self-discovery, share insights, and hopefully spark a bit of reflection in you, too—all without the ‘Big’ theatrics.
So, who is this new Carrie Bradshaw?
Let’s admit it—Carrie Bradshaw is iconic. From her witty mind to her bold style, unforgettable outfits, and shoes, she’s one of a kind. And then there’s her circle of fiercely loving, loyal friends. But why, with all that going for her, does she keep dodging genuine—even gorgeous—men for her egocentric John, whose ego is so “Big” it becomes his nickname?
In evolving Carrie for the lens of this blog, I’m not claiming to have life all figured out. If anything, this space is here to humble me, offering a format to share the crazy, existential topics I get infatuated with each week. I’m here to process it all—how my external world of friends, classmates, mentors, and experiences intersects with my intense vulnerability and my near-compulsive need to overshare.
So, what makes me, Hudson Serletic, uniquely suited to take on this role? If I had to pick one defining strength, it would be vulnerability. Life’s storms often feel extreme to me, and they say the strongest people get the toughest battles. But I’d argue it’s actually the most vulnerable people who do. Our strength is immense because we feel a purpose in what happens to us, a calling to turn each lesson into something meaningful to share with others.
While I’ve experienced defining moments—like moving past my own “Mr. Small” and overcoming an emergency brain surgery and cancer scare that put my whole life on hold, forcing me to shed and rediscover my true self—I’m here to show that these experiences are part of me, not the whole story.
After an intense 19 years of navigating my way to self-love, understanding the power of my internal world on the external, and experiencing everything from the challenges of putting others before myself to triumphing over battles that cost me my whole world and gave me a new one, I’m learning the true power of authenticity—or at least getting a lot closer.
So, please, step into my world: a place to romanticize, learn from, laugh with, and empower ourselves as the main characters of our own stories, leveling up with each introspective punch and every toss into new paradigms.
